It's spring break right now at my high school and since I don't often have an entire week free to myself I thought I'd do the most I possibly could during the time allotted. This is my story:
Now, I know what you're probably saying, "This guy is a teenager, on spring break, and has nothing to do. He's going to go to his friends' houses and party himself to sleep Every. Single. Night." Well, you are absolutely, positively, 100%...wrong. See, I have a cop as a dad and a physical therapist as a mom. What that gets you as one parent that watches your every move like a hawk, and another that will not let you do anything remotely close to dangerous because she once treated a patient who shattered his spinal cord in some-odd number of places by picking up a pencil. Seriously, that happened.
I first started of my break by going to the world capitol of heat, Atlanta, Georgia, for a band competition. I was lucky given the fact that the weather wasn't too sweltering, and overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plus, on the last day I was there I had the pleasure of meeting a super-nice guy who writes about cars or something that goes by the name of Doug DeMuro. We met while I was nearby shopping with the group and we talked for about an hour on topics like who I am, who he is, school, career, Porsche, Ferrari, Ferrari, Ferrari...oh yeah, did I mention we talked about his Ferrari? Meeting Doug was definitely the highlight of my trip.
When I arrived back home I still had over half of my break left with nothing to do. So, I began thinking of things to do and somehow ended up on the pothole capitol of the world, Washington D.C.
While the pothole capitol was nice my vacation really hit its climax on the last day when I attended an event that surprisingly wasn't even held inside the district: my first ever Cars & Coffee event held at Katie's Coffee House in Great Falls, Virginia.
This event was absolutely magnificent. The weather was perfect, the location was perfect, the coffee was perfect, the owners were all kind, and the cars were jaw dropping.
Okay, okay, I'll shut up now and just get on to the real reason you clicked on this post: the photographs.
P.S. I have many more photographs that I have not posted here. If you would like to see them please head to my photobucket page by following the link !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I also have acceleration videos of cars leaving the event:
Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari 360 Accelerating
Thanks for reading, and HAPPY EASTER!!!
P.S.S. Again, I have many more photographs that I have not posted here. If you would like to see them please head to my photobucket page by following the link !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Thanks, sorry you could not make it. I had one hell of a time! Too bad I live in Central Va and will not be able to make it back until at least summer when school lets out.

Thanks for the kind words!
I know, waking up that early on a Saturday when you're not getting paid to do it is rough!
Yes, I most definitely will!

Don't even get me started on the houses. I had to pick up my jaw after it dropped driving to Katie's. It immediately dropped again except this time it was due to potholes. The houses were freaking ridiculous!

Holy Shit, Those potholes. Did you take Georgetown Pike?
I made the terrible mistake of riding my Gw250 there. God damn, my balls were about to fall off.

Yeah, they did! Sadly, I was to consumed with getting coffee to get pics of it. Once I was finished it had already left. So pissed at myself.

I don't believe we took the Gtown Pike, but we did ride 495 a lot as we did 50 when we visited Annapolis and they were both pretty awful. Especially the bridges. The worst though had to be the surface streets in DC. I don't even see how they pass DOT regulations because in my book they are far from anything I'd ever call suitable to drive on. Even GWash Prkwy had massive potholes that seemed to appear from nowhere.

If it was super windy, and rough. It was possibly the pike.
The parkway is usually good enough, but gets bad really quickly. I've come across massive four inches deep potholes that have been left to sit for months. Dc is even more hellish. I'd agree that those roads aren't safe by any means. Especially on two wheels, or even four. Out in Prince William, the roads are slightly better. But then again, nowhere near where they need to be quality wise.

Yeah, I guess I'm lucky. Here in Central Va the worse we have is Downtown, Lynchburg where there are maybe one or two potholes where construction is currently taking place. I really do feel for you all.
And, yeah the roads really are REALLY not safe for two wheeled motorist. I don't know what's worse, the potholes or the careless drivers. My cousin, who happens to live in DC, once popped his motorcycle tire from hitting a pothole that was under the cloak of darkness. The next day when he went to document it so he could file the DOT it had already been filled. Assholes.

Yeah, I live in Prince William and work close to Dulles. The roads aren't terrible unless you get closer to Dc where they turn terrible.
I've got nothing against Vdot. But for the sake of Motorcyclists, they need to get their roads patched up instead of enforcing the speed limit by expensive aircraft.

Amen to that. My dad is an avid motorcyclist and he complains about the same things. Random gravel patches (especially if it's loose) can spell death for our 2-wheeled friends.
You know what, I personally have never seen them actually patrolling by aircraft. I see signs about it all the time, but I have never seen it actually being preformed. I've heard that the state is using all its resources allocated to aircraft patrolling on attempting to catch the drug growers/dealers by flying above and finding their growing spots.
Now, I've never seen them actually do that, either..

Gravel! That's another major issue. There's tons of it. Especially around turns, gravel, potholes all ads up to death for riders. Vdot puts riders lives in their hands as to speak and they are not doing a good job with it so far.
For the aircraft, I'm pretty sure they have some. I remember a demo video involving a Cessna. But I'm pretty sure they're just sitting around collecting dust somewhere.

If it lasts more than 4 hours, I have to call a doctor, right?

Can't call a doctor. That'd eat up part of my Porsche fund.

Yeah, this was by far one of my favorite cars there. I mean it's a brown on tan Porsche 911 SC with a stick. What's not to love?

Glad you enjoyed Katie's. I had the white Jag F-Type out there. Next time if you see a Jag with dealer tags, find me (I'm tall and normally nearby). I'll let you start it up.
